Research interests:

Discrete dynamical systems and nonlinear difference equations with applications to scientific modeling

Dr. Sedaghat received his Ph.D. degree in 1990. He has been working in the area of discrete dynamical systems for over a decade and has over 50 publications in peer reviewed journals in this area. He has authored a book and a book chapter and is working on a second book. His major research activities have included studying (i) semiconjugate factorizations and reductions in orders of difference equations, (ii) global asymptotic stability of equilibria, (iii) periodic, non-periodic and chaotic behaviors of orbits in discrete dynamical systems, (iv) modeling discrete systems in biology and medicine including spontaneous initiation and terminations of reentrant tachycardia in human hearts and (v) modeling discrete systems in economics including consumer demand behavior and macroeconomic business cycles.
